Amanda is a textile designer/ maker and photographer. Her handcrafted contemporary, woven and printed, designs are impressionistic in style and inspired by the glorious local landscape, skies, flowers, and wildlife.
My designs are inspired by the natural wonders that catch my eye whilst out and about on Arran: pebbles on the beach or just under the tide; lichen clinging to a rock; the intricate forms and colours of fungus on a tree; the vibrancy and striking shapes of ferns; patterns formed in the sand; and many other little treasurers. Using my own digital photographs these encounters shape a small, slowly evolving, range of scarves, pictures, greetings cards and home furnishings.
