An exhibition showing watercolour and mixed media by Suzi with demonstrations of different techniques. Home produce available all originating from the farm by Nicky. Our inspiration arising from Arran life.
My name is Suzi Kennett-Brown and I’m sharing the space with Nicky Brown ( arran_honestybox ) in her lovely studio called The Piggery. Being on Arran has set me free to enjoy working on my own pieces. Using water based materials – watercolour, acrylic and water based oils.
A brief history of my background in art. Art school trained. Printed textile designer. Spent sometime in a graphics studio. Moved into glass – specialising in engraving – worked mainly to commission. Public and private. Invited to take part in workshops. V&A being an example and artist in residence projects. Part-time art tutor in schools and private classes. Now Zoom and Google Meet based.
We have always grown our own vegetables as it just seems the natural thing to do as a farmer. When we moved to Arran I realised there was little fresh produce available so decided to put out our “extras” at the end of the drive for anyone passing. This has grown into the Honesty Box selling all our own produce, eggs, frozen meat and of course fresh vegetables which covers one and a half acres, greenhouse and polytunnel.
I feel passionate about giving people the option to buy local fresh produce that tastes so different and of course, with low mileage.
