We hope you’ve enjoyed our artist social media takeover. Now , with just over 7 weeks until our event, we will showcase the work of all the other artists taking part. Also coming up in July is our preview exhibition in Brodick Hall. This has been a very successful addition to our event. It allows the opportunity to get a wee preview of the work going on around the island, with one piece submitted by each artist taking part in our event.
For now, prepare for your daily virtual exhibition of the work of participants in this year’s Arran Open Studios event.

Finally in the Black Fox Studio , I have a new venture. Crafted from the off cuts of glass and board from my framing. Float glass is hand cut and combined with inks to create vibrant colours and movement. I love doing them as you never know how they’re going to turn out and the effects change constantly.
That’s the last post from me this week, thanks for looking and also huge thanks to the AOS team. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

My name is Lesley Lockhart and I will be exhibiting at venue number 46. I’ve always had an interest in the decorative arts .I paint mainly in oils and acrylics favouring rich colour and pattern.I’m stimulated by any decoration whether it’s painted or lettered or stitched ; gardens , ceramics and needlework I enjoy.
Managing Arran Art Gallery for Nick Giles for some years gave me the opportunity to indulge my interest. My paintings are mostly light-hearted.
This year I’ve relocated from my old studio at the Old Haybarn ,Lamlash to the Ormidale Pavilion, Brodick , exhibiting alongside Kirsty Forsyth , potter , and Iris Russel , watercolourist.
As well as originals, I’ll have prints and cards for sale ..or just come and have a look .You will be made welcome.
